Today, Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT) launched a series of voting resources co-produced with Romany Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people along with Roma Support Group (RSG), in partnership with the Electoral Commission.
Following changes to voting requirements in the UK, these resources have been designed to help break down each stage of the voting process and ensure it’s suitably accessible for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
The resources cover why voting is important, voter ID and how to vote. You can find the collaborative videos below, featuring members of Romany, Roma or Traveller communities, including Billy Welch of Appleby Fair:
- Who can register to vote
- How to register to vote
- Where and how Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people can get free Voter ID
- Why voting is important for Gypsies and Travellers
- Why voting is important for Roma people
If you need support with voting, you can find out more here.
