Canal & River Trust is holding an open meeting where “boaters will have the chance to air their thoughts and pose questions to Richard Parry and other members of the Trust’s team” about CRT’s priorities for the year ahead and its plans for the next 10 years. The meeting will take place on Saturday 25 April, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at The Bond, 180 – 182 Fazeley Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, B5 5SE. The meeting will be chaired by an independent facilitator.
Â
The National Bargees Traveller Action Group (NBTA)Â encourages its members and supporters to attend and promote the case for CRT to uphold the rights of boat dwellers without home moorings, acknowledge that setting a minimum distance or prescribing specific cruising patterns is unlawful, and to urge CRT to publicly welcome boaters without home moorings who cruise within a local area on the basis that this is a lawful use of the boat consistent with Section
17 3 c ii of the British Waterways Act 1995.
Â
The NBTA may have tickets for this meeting that have not been taken up, so *contact us if you want one*, or you may be able to book tickets via the link below.
