Support for Carers

Information about carers and what support is available.

Carers help people, usually disabled or older people.

They help with everyday tasks like:

  • Washing and dressing
  • Travelling around, e.g. to appointments
  • Shopping
  • Helping with finances
  • Being with someone to keep them company
  • Providing emotional support

Applying for a needs assessment

  • To apply for a carer's needs assessment, you can contact:
  • A carer's needs assessment might provide you with:
    • Extra support like someone to assist with caring to give you a break.
    • A gym membership to help relieve stress.
    • Help with taxi fares if you don't drive.
  • You might also be given advice on benefits for carers.
