Band 1 Treatment:

  • Cost: £26.80
  • Examples: Clinical examination, adjusting braces, X-rays.

Band 2 Treatment:

  • Cost: £73.50.
  • Examples: Fillings, root canal treatment, oral surgery.

Band 3 Treatment:

  • Cost: £319.10.
  • Examples: Bridges, crowns, braces, dentures.

You can get free dental treatment if you:

  • Are under 18
  • Are under 19 and in full-time education
  • Are pregnant
  • Have given birth in the last twelve months
  • Have a valid HC2 certificate

What to do in an emergency

  • Contact your dentist for urgent treatment.
  • If you don’t have a dentist or it is out of hours, call:
    • NHS 111 for the nearest out-of-hours dental service.
  • Emergency treatment costs £26.80 unless you’re eligible for free treatment.
  • Go to A&E if you have:
    • Heavy bleeding.
    • Face/mouth/tooth injuries.
    • Severe swelling of the mouth, lips, throat, neck, or eyes.
